THE NEW TERMINAL 6 AT JFK
A World-Class Travel Experience
The new JFK Terminal 6 is an impressive 1.2 million-square-foot facility designed to enhance the travel experience. It will feature 10 international gates that accommodate a variety of wide-body aircraft. This project includes a complete redesign of the airfield’s taxiways, taxi lanes, and ramp infrastructure, along with a new roadway network for both departing and arriving passengers. The terminal will seamlessly connect to the existing Terminal 5 and link to two current AirTrain stations. Located on the sites of the former Terminal 6 and the existing Terminal 7—which will be demolished as part of this project—Terminal 6 aims to provide a world-class experience for customers, airlines, and tenants at one of America’s premier airports.
ZERZA is proud to serve as an Associate Architect on this design-build project, collaborating with CORGAN, AECOM Hunt, and various consultants such as Thornton Tomasetti, Lilker, and Cerami. The design of the project includes a solar photovoltaic system, aircraft de-icing and fluid recovery systems, and stormwater reclamation. Inside the terminal, energy conservation measures include high-efficiency lighting, optimized baggage system motors, and automated building controls.
